The rocky shoreline at the far end of Anawhata Beach was the site of ecological studies in the late 1960s. Revisits to this site and other shorelines on Aotearoa, New Zealand's North Island have revealed declines in southern bull kelp and many intertidal herbivore species. This photograph also highlights the beauty of the terrestrial and freshwater environments in Aotearoa.
