Compound Setae of a Sea Spider: An Adaptation for Grooming

A very rare and fancy liverwort, Plicanthus hirtellus, known in North America from four localities around Haida Gwaii. This is quite a significant disjunction from the other more southern and tropical places it grows outside the continent, and is a wonderful biogeographical puzzle. Tears of joy in the field finding this one during the survey! It's quite the stunner. I enjoyed watching this little spider climbing up a shoot, and got envious of its experience of this plant at that scale :)
