Panthera pardus, Queen of the Savanna

During my fieldwork of the summer of 2022, I drove all over the Kruger National Park in South Africa to collect soil samples around water holes, in search of pathogenic eDNA. One day we passed by this beautiful young leopard, that was observing us from high up in the tree. I will never forget the standing right there, observing her for what seemed hours. She truly is the queen of the Savanna!
