The captured coral reef is a plate coral. Its scientific name is called fungia repanda. This plate coral commonly grows in the tropic regions. Such a colorful appearance and outlooking indicate the characteristics of the coral reef that are aggressive, carnivorous, and vulnerable. Broadly, to present such representative marine creature in this competition is to remind global citizens of the issues of climate change and marine pollution. Public education and ocean literacy are greatly important for future sustainable development and lifelong learning in different life stages. Lastly, the rainbow colors of the coral symbolize the brightness in the future.
