A specimen of Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba), with its large compound eyes, found off the coast of Quadra Island in British Columbia, Canada. Krill and other deep-water marine invertebrates were collected with the Hakai Institute for an ongoing project looking for evidence of microbial symbiosis.
