This little vermillion flycatcher (Darwin's flycatcher) is a rare sight in Galapagos where they are threatened by invasive species, particularly the avian vampire fly which causes high chick mortality and invasive blackberry which has taken over a lot of their habitat. This flycatcher on a shovel is a good representation of our research studying the interactions between Galapagos landbirds and farmers.
